[00:07:33] The challenges we face may be steep, but in unity we can transform South Africa as we harness the potential of our electricity sector and collaborate. Let's build a future where every citizen has a chance to dream, thrive and meaningfully contribute to our collective success. [00:07:59] So how can South Africa effectively and efficiently rally together to embody the SA Inc mindset? Especially in light of the serious socio economic challenges we face, it's imperative for our nation to engage in practical and pragmatic strategies that enable collective action. [00:08:26] First, we need to prioritize public private partnerships that facilitate investment in renewable energy projects. [00:08:38] By collaborating with corporations and local businesses, we can harness resources and expertise that drive innovation while reducing the electricity burden on our citizens. [00:08:57] Furthermore, addressing the soaring cost of electricity must be a top priority. [00:09:03] This could involve implementing reasonable fit for purpose strategies such as energy efficiency programs, community solar initiatives and incentivizing renewable energy adoption in oms households and businesses. [00:09:23] Local governments can play a pivotal role by providing tax relief for those who invest in clean energy solutions. [00:09:32] There has to be also a harmonisation of cost effectivity and affordability wherein the national energy regulator NESA is able to award ESKOM and the municipalities cost effective tariffs so that they continue to remain viable and sustainable whilst simultaneously awarding end use customers affordable tariffs so that we avoid aspects like energy poverty etc. [00:10:07] As we face impending European Union or EU imposed carbon border adjustment taxes and rising US tariffs, it becomes crucial for South African businesses to adapt quickly they need to become resilient and agile. [00:10:28] This may involve transisting towards greener production methods and sourcing local materials, thus reducing exposure to tariffs and ensuring competitiveness in global markets. [00:10:46] A vital element in galvanizing the nation behind the SA Inc mindset approach is fostering a robust national dialogue on electricity energy. Broadly, this dialogue should involve citizens from all walks of life, including community leaders, business owners and policymakers. [00:11:13] Creating platforms for open discussions allows diverse voices to contribute their perspectives and solutions. [00:11:23] Engaging in conversations about shared challenges such as the electricity crisis and rising tariffs helps build a sense of ownership and common purpose amongst all South Africans. [00:11:38] Moreover, this dialogue can facilitate a unified action plan prioritizing collaboration and collective responsibility, enabling us to harness our strengths to address pressing socio economic issues and work towards a brighter future together. [00:12:04] Ultimately, embracing the SA Inc mindset calls for a shared commitment to economic resilience and and agility.
